Such a Busy Busy Day!! 8-6-08

I took the day off from work and Grandma Carol and I went with Lily's 4 year old day care class to Mulberry Lane. It is a petting farm near Hilbert. I didn't know how the day would go as Lily started out very clingy. It was a pretty cool place. They got to do so much. Milk a cow, ride a horse, hold some chickens, and even go on a hay ride. Lily was able to see lots of pigs--which is still her favorite animal, but I think it is losing some of its luster to her. (thank goodness!!--guess I shouldn't say that, but I think I am "pigged" out, even if she isn't!!) Lily was pretty good and I think she had a good time. She had a lot of attitude, and didn't want to listen to her teachers if Mom or Grandma was there. But in the end, she was only one of 3 to take a well needed nap on the bus. And I am sure that is because she was sitting with me.

Lily asked me this morning when I was going to go on another field trip with her, and I told her I wasn't sure. I told her I didn't think she had any fun with me there, and she said she did, but she just didn't want to talk to anyone but me and Grandma. I am so looking forward to her teenage years!! :::smile:::

After we got back to day care, I took Lily home for an hour or so and then we went to get her hair cut at Snips and Giggles. It is a new hair cut place in DePere just for kids. She doesn't get her hair cut often so I thought this would be a fun girls afternoon. She was very excited to sit in the pink airplane to get her hair cut. The finished her hair with a braid and lots of glitter. She was so good. After she was done with her haircut, she even got to make her own lip gloss. I am trying to grow her bangs out and it is so difficult to deal with a little girl who doesn't want her hair up or in a barette, so it will hang in her eyes--so that is why the picture of her showing off her hair it is hanging in her eyes. It looked much better when I got home and re-did the braid!!

Then, if the day wasn't full of enough fun already, Dan and I met our friends, Lorrie and Colin (shown above), at my new favorite restaurant, Sgambati's New York Pizza. They have a white pizza--which is not what you think--it is NOT made with alfredo sauce, but uses ricotta cheese and mozerrella cheese in place of a sauce and then I top it with my favorite--chicken and pineapple. It is pretty wonderful. They also have an awesome dessert--Milky Way cake. If you like chocolate and caramel--you will love it! When dinner was done, we went to the last of the event of the day--the Cheryl Crow concert at the Resch Center!! We all got tickets from work, so it was very cool that we were all sitting together, so we could laugh at the idiots in front of us who were doing the butt shake and showing off their thongs, etc. I am sure a lot of beer went into their performance! Sorry, I don't have any pictures of them!!

I am missing a picture of Amy and Paul. I did take one of Amy and me, but it wasn't fit to print!! Well, I think that is all from that day. Sorry it took me so long to post this--I know you were all worried!! :) Have a fab day!! --Teri
